Giorgio Armani is the Chairman and CEO of the Armani Group, as well as the sole shareholder of the company Giorgio Armani S.p.a. – one of the few companies that remain independent in the fashion industry.
He was born July 11, 1934, in Piacenza, North of the Italy.

After two years of studies in medicine, he began his career in the fashion world by working as a window dresser at la Rinascente, a renowned store Department, in Milan.

In 1961, he was named designer for Nino Cerruti, where he his weapons before going to his account: during the ensuing years, he collaborated with several companies in quality of freelance creative. Professional experiences that enable it to confront different realities and requirements, and contribute to forging his style.

Building on its achievements, Giorgio Armani follows the Council of Sergio Galeotti, who suggested that he create his own label: it is July 24, 1975, the two partners founded Giorgio Armani S.p.a while paving the way to the development of a line of ready to wear man and woman.

Giorgio Armani asserts itself in the international landscape of fashion through a re-very personal interpretation of the jacket men, that it causes for more than flexibility and comfort, while paving the way for a soft trend in formal clothing for men.

We are in 1980, and in one of the scenes cult of American Gigolo, Richard Gere take the time to dress by choosing one of the Armani suits that it comes out of her wardrobe: cinema, this is a real passion for the Italian stylist, who will also be one of its communication tools preferred.

In 1982, the portrait of Giorgio Armani made the cover of TIME magazine: it is the second designer to receive this consecration, after Christian Dior.

Giorgio Armani is also a precursor who knows how to evolve its claw around the concept of lifestyle:
at the end of the 1970s, he already signed a wide range of lines, and, gradually, it extends its offer of high-tech fashion, passing by the lingerie, the swimwear, fragrances and the eyewear, cosmetics and products for the body, watches and jewellery, furniture and interior design, restoration (with Emporio Armani Caffè)pastry.

From fashion to genuine emblem of the art of living: in knowledgeable contractor, Giorgio Armani has been able to decline his notion of elegance, taste and style under multiple facets. A strategy of diversification expertly carried out, while respecting the identity values that characterize the claw: impeccable but discreet, elegance refinement, the sober luxury.

Italian designer dedicated also, time to time, to collaborative projects various, as it conducted with Mercedes Benz, in 2005 for the creation of an edition limited: the Mercedes – Benz CLK Cabriolet by Giorgio Armani.

In 2005, it is the turn of an agreement with Emaar Hotels & Resorts LLC, relating to the inauguration of several Hotels designed in combination with Italian designer. The same year, Giorgio Armani creates its Haute Couture, Giorgio Armani Privé.

The career of Giorgio Armani is punctuated by various and numerous international awards: of these, the most prestigious Italian titles – Commendatore dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica, large ‘Ufficiale dell’ Ordine al Merito della Repubblica – the Rodeo Drive ‘Walk Of Style’ – a testimony of his cinematographic collaborations – the Award for Best International Designer and the Lifetime Achievement Award for menswear – awarded by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The Italian designer has also received the insignia of officer of the Légion d’honneur in Paris, July 3, 2008.
