Eugène Schueller (20 March 1881 – August 23, 1957) is a chemist and a business leader, founder of the l’Oréal group. It was one of the pioneers of modern advertising. Eugène Schueller is born in the backroom of the bakery of his parents at 124, rue du Cherche-Midi in Paris in the 6th arrondissement. Out winner of promotion of the Institute of applied chemistry of Paris (now École nationale supérieure of chemistry of Paris) in 1904, he was promoted assistant-preparer of Professor Victor Auger at the Sorbonne that same year. In 1907, he develops the first hair dye of synthesis. Married in 1909 to Louise Madeleine Berthe Doncieux, daughter Liliane was born October 21, 1922. His wife died on October 27, 1927 and he married may 26, 1932, with Annie Grace Burrows.
